Is There Freedom In Conditioning

   

In the book "Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, there is no freedom in conditioning at all. This system helps to separate all humans into five different classes: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilons, where Alphas are the highest level and Epsilons are the lowest level. People in each level are only willing to stay with the people within that level simply because they are being conditioned to do so. For example, when betas are produced, they were being taught that "I am really awfully glad i am a Beta", and "Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are worse", which clearly shows why people only stay with the people within their level. People also have no thoughts or beliefs. They were forced to believe what the controllers want them to believe and have no power to fight against that. Since people do not even have their own thoughts, then there is no freedom in conditioning, in this "Brave New World".

The Sad Man

Sitting sadly in depression,my heart once filled with tension,
hopin, my love would be alright,
but now, the reality has taken away the light.

My eyes staring at nothing,
and my heart is pumping.
I am missing my wife
who is the love of my life

Now my love is gone,
and perhaps i should get drunk.

Do Seek Theri Meat From God

The short story " Do Seek Their Meat From God" by Roberts, is written in two perspective. One is from the panthers point of view, that their life is getting harder and harder because of the increase of settlements. Forests are being destroyed, and they can't get enough food for neither them self nor their cubs, so they have to attack the settlers or whatever they can to survive. It is also written from the settlers point of view, that they are working toward a better future, and in order to do that, they need to destroy the forests. No body did wrong things in this situation, they all did it for their future life. All we can say is that the panthers appeared at a wrong place at a wrong time and eventually they are killed. Roberts also created a mood to make us to feel sorry for the panther family when the dead body of the cubs are discovered by the settler.

What is love

Love is the delicious dinner your mum prepares,
which takes her hours to make,
after a hard day of work.
It clearly shows,
that you are the first person she thinks of in the family.

Love is the pride to your country,
that wherever you go,
you can proudly say that you are Chinese, Canadian or wherever you are from,
and wishing
that your motherland will grow better and stronger through time.

Love is the intense emotion between lovers
that both of you
will do whatever they can to help each other,
and heal ,
both the mental and physical pain they have.

Love is the feeling between brothers or friends
that you all trust each other,
and are able to leave your back to each other for them to protect you.
Also, it is the thing
that can bring your relationship with each other closer and closer.

These are all loves.

A Plea for the Physical

Personally I prefer to be a sedentary person more than a physical person, even though I know that physical exercises are good for us. As you probably know, i am a student, everyday i got tons of work to do, things to review and preview. Everyday now, i studied to 11:00pm because i have other lessons after school, so there are no time for me to do exercises. Also i believed that most teenagers at our age preferred to stay at home, and relax by watching TV, playing computer games. The most important reason for me to prefer to be a sedentary person is because that i am lazy, I won't stand if there is a chair, won't sit if there is a bed. So this is why i am a sedentary person.
